Embassy Day





On Wednesday, all of the families went to our appointment at the US Embassy. After about 30 minutes in a waiting room with the dirtiest, most pathetic kids' area I've ever seen, we spent about 2 minutes standing at a glass window, answering questions about our adoption. It was a little surreal to be in a waiting room in Ethiopia, and see Rod Blagojavich on the TV screen...In both Paris and in Ethiopia, we heard several comments about our Governor from people who knew we were from Illinois....made me so proud!

One of the funnest parts of our trip was handing out soccer balls to kids we saw playing on the side of the road - usually, they were playing soccer with rocks or trash, when we would pull over, Ephrim would hop out and surprise them with a ball, and the kids would go nuts!!
