adoption slide show

This is a slide show we've been playing with....it's really easy to use, but has alot of "stuff" with it. Maybe someone has a better suggestion for programs to use for those of us who aren't particularly computer-savvy? Well, we may decide to show it at the Trivia Night Fund Raiser this Sunday, but I need some feedback....is it too cheesy? self-indulgent? any suggestions? I can take it....

Hey Gretchen...

I think it looks great. It would work really well for your fundraiser night...you did a nice job!

it's great to catch up with Magruders thru your blog...I'm one of those 'stalker' readers!

This video does look pretty good. You have a good selection of pictures and it fits what you're going for well. Here's some suggestions of mine:

- Turn that one transition with the road and the train into a fading transition like all the others. That transition has a "travel" type feel to it, and this video isn't directly talking about a trip or anything.

- Choosing different songs for different sections would help convey the message better. When you're showing the pictures of your family, you could go with something happy and upbeat, while when you're showing the pictures in the second part you could go with something quiet and reflective or something about helping others. It depends on the feel that you want to create for the video, but I think the two parts would be well served with two different pieces of music.

- I think this video could use a random picture of Todd making a funny face. (kidding, but it would be funny)

haha....I've been fighting to get that train transition removed...I don't know how it got there!!

THanks for the input, Drew...doing this video took me back to the semester I was supposed to be writing my thesis...but I was also taking a web design class and I spent ridiculous amounts of time "tweaking" it!

I think that that video is wonderful! It will really get to the heart of those who are watching! The only thing I could say (which this is coming from someone who knows NONE of your family and friends) there seem to be a bit too many family and friends pictures.

I found myself wondering off waiting for the point to come across. Not that they are not great pictures...and like I said...it's probably just because I don't know any of those people - although I do have to say your daughter is soooooo ADORABLE!

That's the only thing...otherwise I think your video is wonderful! Great job!
