Last night's concert with Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and Louie Giglio was, well, Indescribable.
Really, a great night of worship. I think I've been waiting to hear something from God or feel something fresh or understand something anew.....I'm not sure what I'm expecting God to do. I mean, He's constant. He's the same yesterday and today. I'm the one who deviates, who gets distracted, who lags behind or goes off chasing rabbits....
One thing I did hear from God last night was this idea - He's given me a few really important things for me to do while I'm here: I'm supposed to love God, love my family, and love college students. That's really it. Everything else is pretty insignificant. And the stuff that sometimes fills my minutes and my days (hmmm...even blogging) is a distraction from what I'm really supposed to be focused on.
We've been talking about vision for CSF lately, and God's challenging me to think about His vision for my life, my day, my agenda. I don't know what it means yet. Mostly I think it means I need to be more aware, more observant. Today I had some great conversations with some girls on campus. I love it. I love it when I can remember to shut my trap and just listen, to hear growth and honesty and fear and passion in their voices.
So, I'm still going to get my final exam done this semester, but I'm going to make sure to enjoy my time on campus. Sure, it took me about 35 minutes to figure out how to use the on-line catalog in the library, but it'll all get done in due time. In any event, I made several new friends in the library as they helped get the "returning student" back online!

and 35 minutes? that's better than an hour! :)
love you G!
Josh and I were also at that concert Mon. night. In the wee hours of the night as we transferred our sleeping kids from the car into their beds, we just kind of looked at each other and said, "Were we really just there, or did we just imagine that whole worship-God-till-we-lost-our voices-thing?' It was great.
I'm partial to the loving college students part...
I wish Gretchen would have a laptop that needed vpn or email problems, or at least have trouble resetting her password. I'd have so much fun helping the returning student at tech support.
I wish Gretchen had a laptop, too....
