My daughter, the speller.....

Today was the 4th Grade Spelling Bee at SJ's school. For the last couple of weeks, each individual class has been having bees to pick the top spellers in each class. I wasn't too surprised when Sarah Jane came home and told us she was one of the top 2 who would represent her class in the 4th Grade Bee. We are so proud of her!! She spelled Evaporation, Pecan, Although, Journey, and then missed in the 5th round.....SALAMI was the fatal word that put her in 3rd place out of all 150 4th graders(the top 2 go on to the Regional Bee).

Some of the kids were clearly devastated at the 4th grade loss, but Sarah handled it well, just relieved she made it out of the 1st round!! We celebrated after school with a banner dad made and some Aldi brownies....

Good for her! CINNAMON was the word that got me in my 4th grade bee.
And there's nothing better than Aldi brownies!!

Good that you resisted that initial urge to make her Salami Bread...
