Today as I went from braiding hair to my computer to my job to meetings and piano lessons....as I caught up on phone messages, email and blogs...did some dishes and tucked kids in bed...I couldn't help but breath a little easier thinking about what's coming this Saturday....
We get to travel with 11 or 12 college students to Nett Lake, Minnesota....where the closest grocery store is 1 hour away...where there is little cell phone reception and we won't have access to internet or television. We'll cook big meals together, clean and work at the church, take naps and read during the day...and then after school is out, we'll play basketball and volleyball at the school, draw superheroes with the kids and help them with homework. We'll worship and love kids and rest and play together. And I'm looking forward to what my wise friend Tammy calls "a pause".
