Surprised by God

We've had so many financial bumps in the last few weeks....Our van bit the dust (our mechanic begged us to "please let this van die"), our other car started giving us some trouble (hasn't been a problem since a strange piece of metal fell off the bottom....hope we didn't need that!), a cracked tooth, and a digital camera that ended up in the Huzzah River were just the highlights from the last 2 weeks!

The thing with being totally bankrupt (metaphorically, okay? Don't worry, mom!) is that here is where God gets to show off....now is when He gets my undivided attention. Friday, we received a large refund check in the mail - - what we saw as a stressful adoption problem actually allowed us to get this money back to put towards a vehicle.....Yesterday at church we were given a new digital camera from amazingly ridiculous friends...and I'm confident that God will continue to provide for us in ways we can't predict. My 4th grade youth group has been memorizing this verse from Jeremiah 33: "Call out to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." I love not knowing what God's gonna do next. Okay, sometimes I panic and get impatient...but I love being surprised by God!

Isn't He amazing? He always provides and often in ways you never saw coming.

I would like to know how the camera got into the river! Bless your friends, wow. Praise the Lord to for providing for you all. I can not recall~ did you guys hear of Lifesong for Orphans (an adoption/orphancare) ministry that gives away grants and matches? They were so helpful to us with bringing home Samuel. Maybe they could help with the adoption fundraising?
LOVE the new blog look!!!

God is sneakier than a ninja! And the best part is He has no reason to do these things for us.. I mean, sure.. we are faithful sometimes.. but we complain alot too.. He is just too stinkin' cool. I don't know if I could be so giving, ya know? I guess thats why HE is God.. and I am just a pawn! :)

Gretchen,
Love your post. God is the only one who can take care of us....even our mistakes he uses
sometimes for our good!!
We have had to trust in him more since we started this adoption journey than we ever have in the last 14 years!
