Todd and I went to see Fireproof this weekend with some friends. I've gotta admit, I didn't have extremely high expectations, but I couldn't get over all the people who were raving about the movie, so I figured we should do our duty as Christians and support the movie while it was still in the theater....
You've gotta see this movie.
If you're married, go see this movie. Dating? Hoping to one day be married? Go see this movie. It's a beautiful picture of the power of unconditional love, and I couldn't help thinking about friends I know who have given up on their marriages.....
Loving your spouse more than you love yourself. it's really as easy as that. Doing it when you don't want to - when you're tired, when you're right, when you've been hurt...
But as I sat next to my almost officially divorced friend in church on Sunday, I realized, it's not always as easy as that. It doesn't always end like the movie. There are people who love Jesus and love their spouse, and their husband or wife still leave.
In case you didn't know, marriage is hard. really hard. I'm thankful for reminders like this movie that challenge me to speak sweeter and be more intentional in my marriage.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have heard a lot about it, but you just never know. Maybe, we will make an effort to see it, after all.
