Being the parent of 5 children

Okay, so for the last 2 days my brother, Ben, his wife, Chessa, and their 3 kids have been here. It's been a blast. We've eaten lots of junk, played outside, ridden bicycles, made lots of forts out of blankets and pillows, and washed lots of dishes.

Tonight Ben and Chessa were at the Illinois game. "Of course we can handle all 5 kids!!", we said confidently. After all, if they die, that's the arrangement, so might as well make sure it'll work, right??

Holy cow, am I tired!! Seriously, every muscle in my body feels like it's entirely sapped of energy. I want to go to bed, but I'd have to brush my teeth, which requires a significant amount of energy, and sitting here at the computer requires much less.

This seems like the longest 6 hours of my life, and we've still got to get through tomorrow morning's dressing/eating breakfast/getting Sarah Jane to school routine.

We always thought we'd have 3 or 4 kids in our family.

I'm thinking that 2 might be a good place to stop.

Not that having 3 or 4 kids is bad. I think it's awesome. But man, what hard work!

Having 4 boys is pretty hectic too.

Many people feel sorry for my mom, and wonder how she has survived all this time.
