I'm going to Russia soon....my new friend, Misty, recently put this photo on her blog of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sharia, where we'll be doing a VBS while we're there. This church is new, after the old one burned down....I'm wondering, though, why you build a church of all pine after just having gone through a fire?

Lack of other building materials.
There's a lot of wood in Russia, but probably not a lot of bricks or concrete.
