This morning I went in to Sarah Jane's room to help her pick out clothes for school, and her new Bible was laying open on the floor. I asked if she was reading it this morning, and she said she was looking for the story of the boy with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, but couldn't find it. I could tell she was really frustrated by this....
I told her a secret about Jesus...that if she was looking for a story about him, or a miracle he did, or something he said, she only had to look in 4 books: Matt, Mark, Luke, and John. The look on her face was like I had just given her the key to the candy vault!!
I could identify with her frustration in not knowing where to find things in the Bible. Sometimes I feel like that, too. But I don't think I knew the secret about Jesus in the Gospels until I was in high school (and I didn't really care back then). To give my parents some credit, I did learn all the books in the OT by the time I was in 6th grade....
But Sarah Jane knows the books of the Bible...she's got scripture memorized, and now she knows where to find Jesus....Man, she's so far ahead of me!! I love it!!

I hope she has time to come help me out. I've been looking through Isaiah and I still can't find where he actually says Jesus, just talks about him, much less any cool stories about boys with food.
