Taste

So, I've finally caught whatever Todd and Sarah Jane have been fighting for the last few weeks....Todd still has a scratchy voice, but at least he can breathe at night....

And here's what's been interesting to me.....I have no taste. (okay, now I'd like to ask my brothers from refraining from making comments about my taste in music, boyfriends, clothing, etc.)

Now, I know that when you have a stuffed up nose and can't smell, that can affect the taste of your food. But I don't ever think I've experienced a complete lack of taste like this.

Yesterday in the office, someone brought in chips and a chipotle dip. When I tried the dip, I had no idea what it tasted like. I could feel the heat on the back of my throat, but I still have no clue what the flavor was......I accepted the free coffee at Creekside Corner this morning because all I needed was the "hot" part, and knew I wouldn't be able to taste it anyway....

...but the saddest thing happened today when one of our Meals-On-Wheels recipients gave me a little box of chocolates in a heart-shaped box. I bit into one of the bigger pieces and began to chew, prepared to enjoy the rich chocolate with some gooey goodness inside....but as I chewed, I realized that I had no idea what I was tasting. As a matter of fact, I had to look at the back of the box to discover that I was eating a peanut butter truffle. The whole experience was so depressing that I gave the rest of the chocolates away......

I miss tasting food.

But, I may have just found the perfect diet plan......

Probably shouldn't have kissed them so much! And actually, i'd be careful with that. It sounds like your diet includes kissing sick people. I'm not sure that running around kissing random sick people (with the exception of your husband and kids) would be the most healthy choice. I'm sure you'd be sick enough that you would lose weight, but...eww.

If I'm ever sick, don't kiss me. Todd and/or Lindsey would beat the crap out of me.
