Political Ads

Okay, so I don't really follow Springfield City politics since I don't live in Springfield and can't vote in the elections, so I don't really have an opinion about Tim Davlin. I don't know if he's a good mayor or not. I don't know if he's a good human being or not. But I do know that his political radio ad is ridiculous.

(Cue gurgling brook in the background)....Davlin starts talking about rainbows and hope for tomorrow and coming together and moving ahead.....this ad is so full of cliches and sappiness that the first time I heard it, I thought it was one of those spoofs they sometimes do on the radio...it sounds like a Jack Handley sketch on Saturday Night Live.

He's the Mayor of Springfield, for crying out loud! Can't he find someone to write him a better script? Wasn't there someone who said, "uh, do we have anything better than this?".
