Catalyst Recap

We arrived home around 3:30am this morning, exhausted but filled up with good stuff!! It was so good to be there with Todd and Lindsey to be able to talk through some of the stuff we learned in the context of our community at UIS! Some of the highlights:

Chris Seay taught a lab on consumerism....He used an analogy about his children and how he would feel if one of his children grew up, made it big, was living the good life...while his siblings were without clean water, or medical treatment, or food. Of course, as a parent, you'd be furious that one of your children would live extravagantly while the others sruggled to survive. You would expect them to care for eachother. You get the analogy...we've forgotten about our brothers and sisters around the world...

Len Sweet and Erwin McMannus....so good to hear what God is revealing to them about the church...

Andy Stanley, Francis Chan (I've gotta find a podcast for him!), and Craig Groeschel were the highlights of the conference for me....oh, and Dave Ramsey..I love the dream of what the Body could do if we were free from the bondage of debt.

UIS Homecoming Parade this afternoon, and Todd's preaching in Waverly tomorrow morning....somewhere in there, I'm gonna need a nap!!

Francis Chan...

Seems like he was my favorite speaker of all at Passion conferences. He was excellent! Let me know if you find his podcast!

Gretchen...I found his podcast! Cornerstone Simi is his church and they had podcasts, he is doing a series on the Holy Spirit right now.

Josh and I were there at Catalyst, too. We ran into the Luzadder's not once, but twice, (a lot of Crawford County boys in Atlanta last week) and they said they had seen you and Todd. Francis Chan's podcasts are great . . . I'm still chewing on his words this week.

This quote was part of my Lectio365 Sabbath devotion this morning, and as I considered what this day should look like, I began considering ...
