It was a little bit of a relief to get our fingerprints back from the FBI with a stamp that read, "No Criminal Record"....not that it's a surprise....but, you never know...
When we applied for our first mortgage, the loan officer called us and accused us of not disclosing a bankruptcy (some mix-up with a guy with a similar name)....
This week we had our 2nd set of fingerprinting done for DCFS by Art's Investigations. We never met Art.
We'll get a letter from Homeland Security in a few weeks telling us when we need to report to St. Louis for our 3rd set of fingerprints. Apparently it's too much to ask to have all of these agencies communicate with eachother.
In the meantime, I've still got a stack of paper to chase down....more letters from doctors, employers, insurance companies, banks....
So that's the adoption update...not very glamorous, but it'll be worth it when little Pumpkin (that's the name I'm trying out this week....lots better than "the new kid") is finally home!!
