Well, remember earlier this month when I said our homestudy was done, but I was having a hard time believing it was really true?
Maybe because it WASN'T!!
Apparently, mid-process, DCFS began to change their common practices and require 10 hours of education rather than the 6 hours we've already done. So, the signed, approved, and notarized copy of the our homestudy that we were sent February 27th isn't valid.
Todd and I have to find time to whip out 4 more hours of online education, our social worker will send the homestudy BACK to DCFS, and they will take about a MONTH to review and approve it before we can send it on to Homeland Security.

URRR, sorry to hear that! We will be praying that you will find time to finish the online education and that things will move quickly through DCFS.
GRRRRRRR!!!Doggone it!
OK,knock this out,and then is it a go???
This stinks... keep your head up, you'll get there.
so sorry to hear that! yes - ARGGGHHHH!!!
Its always extremely difficult and frustrating beyond words when there is a speedbump. I know the only time that it will finally feel okay and alright or make any sense is when you have your little one in your arms!
It will happen,
J
Oh, I am so sorry!! Never understood why we aren't "grandfathered" in on some of this stuff that changes when we are almost done with that step. I am going to pray that the month review is MUCH shorter than suggested! :) You've already been through enough! But you are right... TRUST IN THE LORD!!!!
So sorry.. that stinks! I hope it won't take you long to get through it so you can get that homestudy off and get moving toward a dossier and referral.
By the way, I'm finally catching up with blogposts I've missed over the last month and I really appreciate your dialogue about the fast your family did for Lent. It is making me seriously contemplate what I know to be true but so often do not want to look at - what I need versus what I want! How often do I accuse God of not providing what we need? Thank you so much for being so honest. I think I have some repenting to do! : )
Oh-I'm so sorry.
We just sent ours out to USCIS today and I'm holding my breath that there are no more hold ups.
Ugh.
I'm sorry-that must be frustrating.
Good luck with getting those hours finished so you can get the homestudy done-for real!
Bugger! There is always something. I don't know about you, but this adoption process is teaching me soo much more about God and His ways - so far beyond just adoption. Trusting in the Lord with you...
Gretchen, wow that stinks. I feel your pain!! I have had to cling to the fact that eveything happens for a reason, we don't know what it is, but God has a plan for this adoption. If your not ready, maybe it is because your child isn't ready either. Things will
work out, God is never late!
he might be early, but never late!!
I'll keep my fingers crossed your 4 more hours (whoosh!) is quick and painless!
