We need you to call your Congressmen!

The magnitude of what's happened and continues to happen in Haiti is overwhelming. As I put my money in the special offering at church this morning, it just felt so insignificant.

But here's something else we can do RIGHT NOW to make a huge difference in the life of the thousands of orphans in Haiti.

For His Glory Orphans Outreach in Haiti sent out an urgent email today, asking Americans to contact their Congressmen and ask them to evacuate the children in their orphanage. Yesterday they ran out of food and water, and several of the children are in need of medicine, IV's, and other special treatment. Babies with diarrhea and no water will dehydrate very quickly.

There are well over 200,000 orphans in Haiti. I don't know that it's possible that all of them would be evacuated, but there are hundreds of children who are already in the process of being adopted by Americans and families in other countries. Families who have visited these children in Haiti during the process, prayed and cared for them from a distance, and spent thousands of dollars in the process. Many of them waiting for 2 or more years, wading through the bureaucracy and corruption of 2 different governments' regulations.

Wouldn't it be just like God to take this awful situation and turn it into something beautiful for these children who have been waiting to join their forever families?!

I'm emailing my Congressmen right now and hope you'll join me. Ask that the State Deparment and President of Haiti will agree to evacuate the orphans in the process of being adopted. I'm going to follow up my email with a call their offices on Tuesday. Please join me!
