The Family Peacemaker

When our girls were babies, my husband dubbed this, The Peacemaker:

Lately, however, I've come to realize another important piece of the peacful family puzzle:

I fought it for awhile.

Our minivan was hauled away to van-heaven in January, and since that time have been borrowing a car from a generous family at church until our tax refund comes. We've been shopping for cars and keeping an open mind about what will replace the old blue van....I started thinking that we might be able to move on from the Swagger Wagon to something a little hipper....an SUV of some sort...something to haul the boat/camper...

Oh yeah, we don't have either of those.

Then I came to the realization that we just can't live without a minivan.

I know what you're thinking.
"There are starving children in Africa who would kill for a sedan."
"Our grandparents survived without having minivans"

But if I have to hear one more argument about who has to sit in the middle...

One more dance to the car as children try their best to be the last one in....

One more complaint about sitting on the bump....

So I've come to terms with it. We are a mini-van family. Everyone has their own seat. They don't have to touch eachother or take turns in the middle or sit on the bump. I may not be a hipster mom driving my minivan, but I'll have my sanity!

In the meantime, I've been stalking the Where's My Refund? website, and I see some peace in my future!

Love this!! I only have 2 (so far) and can't imagine life without our van! love the sliding doors so that I don't door ding the car next to me who couldn't park at Walmart... the list goes on and on but I agree, I may not be hip but I'm a very comfortable, happy mom in my van! :)

One of the benefits of the company I work with is a Car Shopping program - we tell them what we want, then they go to work and find the best deal for us. One of my friends just saved $5000 off the cheapest price they were able to find. (and it's for new and used vehicles) Let me know if you'd like me to get you more info. :)
