Confession: I don’t know how we’re going to feed the kids at the orphanage.
After several months of low donations, we’ve reached the point I hate most: having to tell Gathiga Children’s Hope Home - NO. No, we don’t have money to give you for food. No, we don’t have money to put the new kids in school. No, I’m sorry. Hapana (no in Swahili). Sina pesa (I don’t have money.). Pole (sorry).
It is a horrible feeling, and probably one of the reasons I’ve been having so many problems sleeping.
But somehow, some way, I KNOW God is going to come through. We’ve seen him do it over and over again in the past. HE WILL MAKE A WAY. I firmly believe that God would not rescue these kids from the streets and from horrible home situations, only to watch them starve at an orphanage.
Would you stop and pray for us today? I mean really pray. Could you stop what you’re doing right now and cry out to God for these kids? We don’t care how God provides, whether through Jump for Joel or through other former GCHH volunteers or through some generous group here in Kenya or through YOU, we need food.
If you want to help, you can give here: http://j4j.donortools.com. We’re not usually the aggressive soliciting type here at J4J, but with 97 hungry kids at GCHH, we’re putting out our online donation link desperately hoping you’ll give. And with a current exchange rate of 86 Kenyan shillings per US dollar, even the smallest donation goes a LONG way.
This is not the time to be apathetic.
