I need to record a "Mother's Moment" here....I don't ever want to forget what happened Friday morning.....
We have a rule in our house that the girls need to stay in their bedrooms until 7am...they can play, sleep, read....but they need to stay upstairs. We implemented this rule about 9 months ago when Sophia started following us down the stairs in the morning when Todd and I would get up at about 6am.
When you get up at 6am to have some quiet time with God, read, reflect, etc....having a 4 year old up with you, asking to turn the tv on, playing with loud toys, and just being a 4 year old....it's not exactly conducive to hearing spiritual Truths...
So anyway....Friday morning I was sitting at the dining room table, preparing for my Beth Moore study that day....when Sarah Jane came down the stairs at about 6:30am. I looked over, and she had her new Bible in her hand. She asked, "Can I read my Bible with you?".
I about lost it.
I was reading in 3 John that morning, so we opened up her Bible and she read the passage. Then we talked about what she had read.
We prayed together that we would be obedient children of God, just as John challenged Gaius.
Thank you, God....for being faithful and giving my children a desire to know you.
