Technology Confessions

I try really hard to use the appropriate etiquette for new technologies....I try not to spam people with annoying forwarded emails, I keep my phone on vibrate when I'm in public (usually), leave the room to take calls.....and I don't text message in church.

Um, until recently.

We were visiting a small country church who wanted to meet with Todd about Christian Student Fellowship. About 25 kind, wonderfully warm people there for worship, and, as the communion song was being sung, a BAT flew into the sanctuary, making a few passes around the room before resting on the stained glass window (upside down, of course) behind us!! Seriously??

After a nervous comment from the song leader to "ignore it", we went back to singing...but the next time it circled the room, it made a little dive for the 70 year old piano player, who responded by jumping off the piano bench....

So, I refrained from pulling out my camera and taking a picture of the bat in church (I was thinking about what a great blog picture that would be..).....but I've gotta confess....I did text a few bat play-by-plays to Twitter.

Don't worry. My daughters scolded me.

oh twitter. :) I remember getting those updates as I was driving home on Sunday morning. I was so intrigued by the bat, couldn't wait for the next tweet. It was later in the day when I realized that you had twittered during church...

I would have done the same!

This quote was part of my Lectio365 Sabbath devotion this morning, and as I considered what this day should look like, I began considering ...
