Court Date!
We got a court date today!! January 2nd is the day our adoption will go before the Ethiopian courts. Apparently, there's only 1 judge who oversees ALL of the adoptions, which is the reason it's taking us so long to get in. If all goes well, we'll be in Ethiopia for a Jan. 20th Embassy date!!

I will keep your date in my prayers!
Gretchen,
How exciting! I am sort of new to the logistics of internation adoption... What does the judge decide at the court date? And, is it almost always good news?

So glad that you heard. It will be a wonderful new year! keeping that date in my prayers :)
Congrats!! What an exciting New Year it will be for your family!!
Thanks, everyone!!
Bethany, my understanding is that the judge is mostly checking to make sure that all of the official documents are accounted for and correctly completed. Some families have had to have their court dates re-scheduled for a later date because there was a document missing, or someone's name was misspelled, etc.
I'm so glad for this. It is what we've been working behind the scenes ( in prayer and resources) for.

HOORAY!!!! Congrats! We will be praying that your paperwork would all be in order so you don't have to reschedule!
I am so thrilled for you! I know how hard won these little angels are and I hope and pray it goes smoothly and you can soon get your baby home in your arms!
